With the MIAA suspending all fall sports competition until Jan. 1, 2021, Amy Woerth and her Bearcats find themselves unable to play after coming off a historical season where they saw the program's first back-to-back 20-win seasons in 2018-19, and found themselves as high as No. 10 in the AVCA Top 25 poll in 2019, marking the highest ranking in program history. However, Woerth was not allowed to voice her opinion as she was not on any committees that were making crucial decisions. Due to other conferences and teams opting out of their respected seasons across the NCAA, Woerth was foreshadowing the inevitable. This foreshadowing eased the pain for players and coaches. Northwest will have to deal with the hardships of recruiting and seniors deciding to leave or stay. In the meantime, the Bearcats will be using this freetime as an extended offseason.
