New Nodaway Humane Society two-year-old Kahn stands and poses in his kennel. The humane society was facing overcrowding and since then has only improved a little.
Zulu
Siberian Husky/German Shepherd mix one-year-old Zulu retreats to the other side of her kennel. It is hard for shelters to prevent overcrowding due to being unable to turn people away.
Sassy Sue
Sassy Sue is a one-year-old domestic shorthair mix that was surrendered to the shelter by her owner/guardian in November. According to the New Nodaway Humane Society’s website, it currently has 25 adoptable cats.
Sven & Olaf
Three-month-old Sven and Olaf cuddle together in the hammock in their kennel at the New Nodaway Humane Society. Sven and Olaf are domestic shorthair mixes that were brought in as strays Dec. 14 along with their sister Ana.
