A sexual assault was reported to the University Police Department Aug. 20. The assault is reported to have occurred between 9 and 10 p.m. Aug. 16 in Forest Village Apartments.

UPD sent a campus-wide email alerting students of the incident and clarifying that the suspect is not a Northwest student.

The victim is not pursuing criminal charges at this time.

UPD Chief Clarence Green said the victim had limited information about the suspect’s identity.

Green said a campus-wide email was sent to ensure the safety of the community.

“At this time we thought it would be for our campus safety, in order to alert the campus to this crime that occurred so that they can take action in order to prevent such things from happening in the future,” Green said.
