Prior to 1916, the Fifth District Normal School had no mascot for its athletic teams, which were referred to only as the "Normals." Then the 1915-1916 basketball season made many people start paying attention to the school's growing athletic prowess. Second beating death suspect pleads guilty

The second man charged in a Maryville man's 2007 death entered a guilty plea this morning. Eric B. Romig, 27, Maryville, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, a Class C felony, before Judge Roger Prokes this morning. Romig will appear before Prokes again at 1 p. (0) comments
