A message from President Dean L. Hubbard

Dear colleagues, students and friends, During today's Board of Regents meeting I announced that I plan to retire as president according to the timeline contained in my current contract. This means that next summer (2009) I will hand over the reins of this great university to someone else. The 24-plus years Aleta and I have spent at Northwest and in Maryville have been among the best of our lives. Not surprisingly, we approach the end of our tenure here with considerable sadness. On the other hand, we are extremely proud of the outstanding results the Northwest family has accomplished in every dimension of university life: student success, graduation rates, student and staff satisfaction, facilities and grounds, enrollment, and financial robustness. Our greatest satisfaction, however, comes from the student-centered culture we have watched mature on campus. This year's Boston Celtics motto sums up the essence of our Culture of Quality: "I am because we are." Cordially, Dr. Dean L. Hubbard, President
