Northwest President Dean Hubbard said Thursday he will retire at the end of the 2008-2009 school year.
Hubbard made the announcement at the scheduled June meeting of the Northwest Board of Regents on campus.
Hubbard has served as Northwest's ninth president since succeeding B.D. Owens in 1984. A 2009 retirement would make him the longest-serving Northwest president, a title currently held by the institution's fifth president, Uel Lamkin.
