Campus Safety- More than Writing Tickets

It's hard to miss the vehicles driving around campus: the white SUVs with green decals to identify Campus Safety. What most students don't know is that Campus Safety does more than write students parking tickets.

Campus Safety offers services for the safety of the students. One of these services is an escort service. If a student is feeling uneasy walking on campus or feels vulnerable, he or she may call Campus Safety. An officer will escort the student from one location on campus to another location on campus. These calls can be made from any location on campus, including the blue emergency lights.

Another service offered by campus safety is motorist assistance. If a student's car battery dies, Campus Safety will a person to help jump the car battery. This service is not available during storms or during lightening. To receive help with a car, call Campus Safety and let them know what kind of help is needed, what make and color the car is and where the car is located. To receive help the student should stay with the car.

Campus Safety also offer a bicycle registration program to help find missing bicycles and offers a women's defense program. To reach them about any of these services, call the office number at 562-1254.
